Casino Magic Biloxi Casino & Hotel was a 50,000 sq ft (4,600 m2)[1] permanently moored casino barge located on Casino Row, along the Mississippi Gulf Coast in Biloxi, Mississippi with an adjoining 378 room hotel located on 16 acres (65,000 m2) of land.[1][2] The property is now owned by Harrah's Entertainment.
The 378 room Casino Magic Hotel was added on May 1, 1998.[3]
The casino was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. [2]
Following Pinnacle Entertainment's acquisition of a Lake Charles casino from Harrah's Entertainment, which was damaged in 2005, it announced plans on June 20, 2006 to invest $350 million to construct Sugarcane Bay with an anticipated opening date in 2009. Harrah's received the site of the former Casino Magic Biloxi Casino & Hotel in exchange for the Lake Charles property and has announced plans to build the Margaritaville Casino and Resort on this and an adjoining property that it owned. These plans were canceled or rejected. Its unknown what will happen to the building and lot.
